Happy Birthday Crash

Today is officially Charlie XCX’s studio album Crash’s first birthday. This album to many, and to myself, was revolutionary. Charlie XCX has always been known to be toying around with the dividing line between pop and synth music, but with Crash she was able to break that boundary and show her pop star dominance.

Press play on the album and the line “I’m high voltage, self-destructive, end it all so legendary” are the first you will hear. It's chaotic, it's fun, it's exhilarating. It's Charlie XCX. Her albums always have a special touch in them, but in Crash she dives into the pop music world.

The whole album will have you moving, making you feel like you're in the middle of the dancefloor at an indie club in London or New York. Crash with its internet-reality and dream-dance-pop sound teleports you into a neon psychedelic reality.

I myself have spent hours listening to this album while dying at the gym and needing something that will help me push through my workout. Or all those times I've had this blasting through the speakers of my room while I get ready for a fun night out.

The sound of Crash ultimately is a unique one that jumps around hundreds of genres. It is truly one of the best albums released in the last decade, it can't be abridged into one thing. Crash is and always will be iconic, and we can't wait to see what Charlie XCX will release next.
